A Hat in Time (Beta) - State of Blind% ====================================== So I've had multiple streams in the past few weeks were I tried to run the game blindfold (thanks to @sir_habboi) and complete it. While I'm not gonna be doing that anymore there are some issues with the beta as to why I'm not running it anymore. Anyone is feel to use my previous videos as strats if need be. Problems: 1) Sound cues are not stereo all the time. There are instances (like picking up an hourglass, mafia hitting the window on the spaceship, some screen sounds, etc.) that I need them to be, especially for things like picking up an hourglass. The sound will only raise and lower and even then the volume level changes so minimally when you are close it's hard to pinpoint exactly where anything is. This is a problem for any level that has a spot where you can not consistently line up a spot to pick up the hourglass (1-1 and 1-2). You need to do 1-1 to unlock 1-2 and 1-3. So that's already an issue and you can't do 1-4 until you beat 1-2 and 1-3. The issue with kinda just spiral and it's more headache than I want to deal with. This is probably fixed in the final game but for now I'm not dealing with that. 2) Sound cues are sometimes too loud so you can't hear anything. This is mainly coming from trying to get through trainwreck of science. The announcer and external sounds of the train over take the footsteps that are needed to time things out. It gets very inconsistent when you try to run a game using sound cues when you can't really hear them. It's a consistency problem really. 3) The camera. Ho boy the camera. This and 1) are the main reasons I stopped trying. If you tilt any direction but perfectly straight your camera angle goes off and you can say goodbye to whatever setup you were using. It causes major problems in levels like 1-1 and 1-7 (granted I found a way through 1-1 barely). The fact that your camera doesn't stay perfectly centered or there isn't a way to hold a consistent an angle is aggravating. Imagine trying to run OoT blindfold without ever holding the Z button. You can tap it to center the camera but that's it. 4) Movement for blind is incredibly boring. A lot the time to line something up you just swing your umbrella X amount of times. It's tedious, repetitive, boring and I got tired of doing it to line almost everything up. This is more of a personal problem than anything. These are the issues so far with blind running. If you wanna just try and do it without strats, it will take you an unbelievably long time to do it since you can't go off sound all the time so you'll basically be blind AND deaf. Feel free to take what I've learned in the past to use if you want.
