1. Are you serious? Yes. Very. You might say I'm........100% serious........ 2. What is 100% classified as? -All debts to Tom Nook are paid off (all housing upgrades, golden statue near train station) -The museum is complete (all bugs, fish, fossils, and paintings) -Tom Nook's catalog is complete (1289 items, including furniture, clothing, wallpaper, carpet, stationary, items, gyroids, fossils, and music) 3. How long is this supposed to take? It's actually very hard to give a definite estimate for this category, considering how just about everything in this game is random, but the current estimate is at 80 hours. The only part of the run that has a definite time is getting Nook's debt paid off, which takes approximately 40-50 minutes. 4. 80 hours? Yes. 5. Why are you doing this? Because I can. 6. What's the route for this run? That's actually a pretty good question, because there kind of isn't one. Other than paying off all the debts, which has a legitimate route, the rest of the run has only a vague outline. The bare minimum for each day in AC is running through Nook's store, grabbing what I don't have, running through the town dump and police station for items, digging up gyroids/fossils, and checking for special characters/events. I don't really plan on running errands for villagers unless I absolutely have to, or I feel it will improve my chances of getting things, because errands can take up a lot of time that I could be using to get things I don't have yet. 7. Why are you turning off the console and changing the internal clock? Isn't that cheating? Not in this case. Within the game itself, you're able to change the date and time to whatever you want upon starting the game. This is convenient for some things. However, abusing this, which is called "time traveling," causes the game to "punish" you for it. This entails not having trees grow properly (which is necessary for one specific item) and also having certain events fail to happen, which, in a speedrun like this, is a pretty massive problem. The only way to circumvent these issues is to actually change the internal clock on the Gamecube, which requires me to entirely shut off and turn on the console whenever I want to do it. I only do this when I feel that it's necessary, otherwise I change the in-game clock. 8. Okay, good reasoning, but I see that you plan on/have used codes to acquire some items in the game. Isn't THAT cheating? Also not in this case. There are some items in this game that you cannot obtain without using something called an E-Reader, which you would swipe certain cards through in order to obtain these items. I do not own an E-Reader, and furthermore, I don't own the cards that I would need in order to get these items, so instead I use certain codes to get them. I tell the "password" to Tom Nook, who in turn gives me these items, which helps me complete my catalog. This function is also built in the game, and I'm not using any illegitimate external devices to acquire these items, therefore it really isn't considered cheating. 9. Are you actually going to stay up for 80 hours straight? While it is likely humanly possible for me to stay up for that long, I do not plan on staying up for 80 hours straight (this also translates to 3 days and 8 hours). I plan on taking 2 hour naps every 8-12 hours, or as I see fit, in order to keep myself functional. This doesn't mean the run is no longer single-segment; even while I sleep, I will keep the game and the timer running. 10. Will you ever do this again? Maybe on the iQue. c:
